Deldric Dontae Johnson Obituary (1982 - 2021)

"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." - 2 Corinthians 5:8 Deldric Dontae Johnson, a loving loyal father and husband, grandson, son, nephew, uncle, brother, brother in law, son in law, cousin, mentor and friend to all - was born to Kenneth Reed and the late Glorinda Johnson on March 18, 1982 in Pineville, Louisiana. He was called to rest on October 27, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was 39 years old. Deldric, affectionately known as Dontae and Bootywu, accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at a very young age. He graduated from Alexandria Senior High School in Alexandria, Louisiana class of 2000. He then left to serve in the United States Air Force. When he returned from the Air Force, he attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Deldric also obtained his Electrician License at Altierus Career College in Dallas, Texas. Deldric, along with his wife and kids moved to Arlington, Texas in June 2012 and married on October 16, 2015 in Arlington, Texas at their church home, Cornerstone Baptist Church. Deldric and his wife recently celebrated their 6 year anniversary in Denver, Colorado a few weeks ago. Deldric was the General Manager of Shoe Carnival Store #474 in Fort Worth, Texas and an 11 years employee of Shoe Carnival, Inc. He will be remembered for his playful and joking personality, love and loyalty to his family, friends and colleagues, long intellectual talks, mentorship, unmatched and unfailing work ethic, generous heart and smile, and calm and peaceful demeanor. He will also be remembered for his love of football, specifically the Dallas Cowboys. He has been a "die heart" fan since he was a young boy. Deldric is known as "Star Boy" across all of his Fantasy Football Leagues. His Fantasy Football League brothers include League 318, Southern Connection, League NFC, and a couple other Fantasy Football Leagues organizations. He was preceded in death by his mother, Glorinda Johnson of Alexandria, LA.; grandfather Albert Thomas; grandmothers Alberta Carter and Annie Reed; uncles Edward Branch, Rickey Johnson and Arthur Johnson; all of Alexandria, LA. Deldric's memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving and eternal wife, LaTosha Johnson of Arlington, Texas; three sons, Cornelius Chark, Sheldon Johnson and Cameron Johnson all of Arlington, Texas; a daughter, Asia Chark of Arlington, Texas; his father Kenneth Reed of Alexandria, LA; grandmother Clarice Thomas of Boyce, LA; grandfather Eddie Carter of Alexandria, LA; uncle Kesley Harris Sr. of Alexandria, LA; mother in law, Maxine Howard (Marcus) of Alexandria, LA; sisters, Shamika Thomas and Terasha Thomas Gandy (Jermaine) of Pineville, LA; sister, Char'Leatrice "Bert" Robinson of Lafayette, LA; sister, Shaterrica Johnson of Alexandria, LA; brother, Kenerick Perry of Pineville, LA; brother, Tavaris Johnson of Austin, TX; brothers in Christ, Maurice Hill, Louis Myles, Earnest Fair, Earl Pritchett, Corey Boyd and Donald Price; Aunt Rebecca Norris (Herbert) of Woodworth, LA; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and family.
