Nita Inez Teasley Obituary (1937 - 2024)

OBITUARY: Mrs. Nita Teasley was born on November 10, 1937 in Ville Platte, La to Brent and Stella Compton. She departed this life at the age of 86 peacefully on September 3, 2024 at Colfax Reunion and Rehabilitation Center in Colfax, La. During her life, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a proud resident of Alexandria, La where she graduated from St. James Catholic School and also attended cosmetology school. She worked as a monitor tech at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital for many years. She was very outgoing, loved family gatherings, and always possessed the ability to make anyone smile. Nita is preceded in death by her parents Brent Compton and Stella Hayward Compton, Virginia And Charlie Porter, siblings Christella Green, Catherine Compton, Lottie Jones, Henry Compton, Charlie Compton, Levi Compton, Arthur Compton, Benjamin Compton, children Freddie Earl Griffin, Tyrone Frances, Demon Frances, grandson Terence Griffin, great-grandchild Angel Noel McGee. Nita leaves to cherish in her memories daughters, Carolyn Burr-Martin (Alvin), Bonita Beauregard (Ricky), Clester Menefee (Jerry), Jessica Lee (Sean), Cynthia Teasley, Diajuana Teasley, sons Timothy Teasley and Terrell Teasley; Sisters Lovie Compton, Matilda Compton, and Fannie Compton; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, and nephews. In addition to family, Nita touched the lives of many friends and while her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will forever guide us reminding us to live each day with gratitude and to cherish our loved ones.
