Yvonne Baines Gilliard

Yvonne Baines Gilliard, 80, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

All of us have known Yvonne in a variety of ways. She was an amazing mother, loving grandmother, a fantastic friend, and most importantly, an all-around extraordinary woman. She found her joy in not what she could do for herself but what she could do for others. She was a kind, loving, and gentle woman. She dedicated her life to helping those around her reach their goals and aspirations. She taught us the power of family and the power of prayer, but most of all the power of love. She loved without limits. She was the epitome of a strong black woman. She instilled morals in her own and others generations to come. She left a mark on anyone lucky enough to encounter her presence. She was a true example to society. Our hearts cry tears of joy and not of sorrow because we know you're at peace and in the presence of the lord. We love and will miss you tremendously but your memory, traditions, and many acts of love will live on forever.

A public viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Miller & Hill "The Funeral Directors," from 5 pm to 7 pm.
