Zareyah Michelle Armstead Obituary (2003 - 2023)

An 11:00 am Memorial Service honoring the life of Zareyah Michelle Armstead will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 at New Scott Olly Baptist Church, 2627 Willow Glen River Rd., Alexandria, LA 71302. Life Story Zareyah Michelle Armstead was born on November 18, 2003 in Alexandria, Louisiana to her loving parents, Shawntae Armstead and the late William K.C. Vercher. She was fostered by her foster mother Shawn Jones and her foster father Chief Apostle Mark Robinson Sr. of Baytown, Texas. She was introduced to Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Scott Olly Baptist Church in Alexandria, Louisiana under the leadership of Bishop Lynell Smith. Later in life, she joined Solid Rock Full Gospel Church of Houston, Texas under the leadership of Chief Apostle Mark Robinson, Sr. Zareyah was called "Z" by her close family and friends. Her favorite colors were pink and red. She loved NBA Young Boy and always wanted his accessories. Zareyah's beautiful smile and memories will forever be cherished by her mother, Shawntae Armstead; her foster mother Shawn Jones and her foster father Chief Apostle Mark Robinson, Sr.; an amazing caseworker Keante Evans; two loving sisters, Alaya Sanders and Wilasia Vercher; one brother, Jayden Sanders; three foster brothers, Kayden Deal, Ayden Jackson, Jaheim Deal; four foster sisters, Antavia Edwards, Daquirri Deal, Zyan Deal and Lyric Charles; two grandmothers, Gladys Brooks and Jacqueline Armstead; three aunts, Keisha Thomas, Doris Augustine and Mary Thomas, three uncles, Nicholus Vercher, Anthony Armstead and Cedric Thomas as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Zareyah departed this life on March 21, 2023 at Rapides Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her father, William K.C.
